Algebra Placement Test

The Online Algebra 1 Placement Test (APT) covers nineteen key concepts essential for success in Algebra 1. It is a quick, easy, and inexpensive way to see if your student is ready for Algebra 1.

When your online test is submitted, a colorful, easy-to-understand chart will be displayed to help you determine your child's likelihood of success in the course. Our assessment is based on grading thousands of tests and 25 years of testing experience.

Starting Algebra 1 too early or without adequate preparation can be frustrating for both parent and child. Taking Seton's Algebra Placement Test will provide a useful evaluation of your child's readiness for the course and give you a guide to any areas that need further study.

In addition to the Overall Results page, you will receive a detailed analysis which displays your child's understanding of each of the nineteen key concepts. Sample problems, solutions, and reference to the appropriate lesson in the Saxon Algebra textbook, are also shown.
