You'll see deeper into the oceans and be delighted
Sometimes you can judge a book by its cover. The cover of Jeannie Fulbright’s Exploring Creation with Zoology 2: Swimming Creatures of the Fifth Day is a beautiful portrait of several aquatic animals that suggests this textbook will be delightful, informative and inspiring. And that impression would be correct. Jeannie Fulbright begins the book with this introduction: As you learn about the animals that live in the water, you will be filled with awe at the creativity of God and how many different kinds of marvelous creatures He made. It brings glory to God when we study His creation and give Him credit for what He has done. It’s not enough just to study science; we also need to acknowledge the Creator of it all. She delivers on that promise. First, this book is fascinating and the writing is filled with zest and clarity. You’ll learn a lot, such as that dolphins often defend swimmers from attacking sharks, that fishes have a lateral line which provides then with a sense of vibrations of movements around them, so that their sense of “touch” extends to the waters near them. You’ll learn that although the man rays are sometimes called “devilfish”, in truth they are gentle and wondrous creatures. Not so gentle are baby sharks, which often eat their brother and sister sharks inside their mother shark’s body. And you’ll learn about the fierce hunters that are lampreys, and how they can suck the life out of a great white shark. The swimming creatures that live in the sea are truly marvelous, and credit goes to God their creator. Jeannie Fulbright keeps pointing out that the amazing complexity and beautiful design of all the creatures that live on earth are a cogent reason to believe in a benevolent, supremely powerful and intelligent God. After reading this book, you’ll look at the sea and the creatures in it in a new light which will strengthen your faith in Divine Providence.

Student and Teacher Friendly!
My 6th grade daughter thouroughly enjoyed this text. I found it to be very systematic. We can wait to begin a new science text by Apologia this year.
