The second intermediate reader features longer stories and poems with first and second declension nouns in the nominative, genitive accusative and ablative cases. Third person transitive verbs and direct objects in the accusative case are introduced.
In the workbook, nouns and their functions are reviewed and a discussion of direct objects is highlighted. The student will learn classic sentence diagramming of Latin sentences. Sentence elements that are diagrammed on this level are subjects, subject complements, nouns of possession, being verbs, intransitive verbs and intransitive verbs, as well as direct objects, prepositional phrases, adjectives and conjunctions. Noun and adjective phrase declension charts are featured.
